Disneyland Tips

(Plus a few tips if you have little ones too)

We recently went on a trip to Disneyland with our 1 year old! We had such a WONDERFUL time there. We stayed at the Staybridge Suites Anaheim and it was perfect. Here are a few tips we learned as 1st timers!

1. Bring or rent a stroller if you have little ones. Perfect for nap time and holding drinks and souvenirs.

Nap time at its finest

2. Don’t forget a light jacket. The evening temperatures can get pretty cool. We left ours in the hotel one night and immediately regretted it!

3. Insulated lunch bag for drinks/food. This can help cut cost of food to keep your wallet fat. We brought some milk, juice, gold fish, and granola bars to keep our little one happy.

4. NO SELFIE STICKS ALLOWED. We saw countless of selfie sticks confiscated at security

5. Have somewhat of an itinerary. Write down what you definitely want to see or ride and make those your top priority. Ours was meet mickey, watch parades, shows, and ride dumbo. I wrote down all the show times and planned accordingly. It’s pretty overwhelming if you arrive with no game plan.

6. Download the Disneyland Mousewait Free app. This app lets you know where certain characters are and the wait times for rides. Total lifesaver if you have little ones who are not fans of standing and waiting.

7. If you’re traveling with little ones I brought lollipops to keep mine still during long lines, shows, and parades.

8. Buy Disneyland souvenirs, autograph book, and pins prior to Disneyland so they won’t be so expensive.

9. Invest in a external battery charger. Most of us use our phone to capture pictures and don’t want it to die and lose out on all those memories

10. Wear comfortable clothes/shoes. Yes we all want to look cute in sandals or boots depending on the season you decide to visit, but do yourself a favor and save your feet. You’ll be doing a ton of walking.

11. Don’t forget your Mickey Mouse Ears! Get them on your first day so you can where them your whole trip or get crafty and make your own! :)

12. Eat at the Blue Bayou for the most amazing Monte Cristo Sandwich you will ever eat! Reservations are recommended but we were lucky enough to grab a table for lunch.

13. Toddler Tip: Buy princess outfits before you get to the park! We got a cute Minnie mouse outfit at JCPennys for about $30. Score some clearance out Halloween costumes or thrift stores if you can. Oh and if your crafty enough try your hand at sewing one ;)

14. People start sitting down on the curbs 2 hours prior to the evening parade! Grab a spot early or you'll be standing.

15. Skip the parade and continue riding rides for short lines! :)

Have the time of your life at Disneyland y'all! Enjoy!
